Wilkins

Award-winning journalist and human rights activist Roger Wilkins, left, greeted audience members and signed books after his presentation, "The Significance of the Voting Rights Act of 1965." Wilkin’s visit was part of Wright State’s celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, which has been described as the single most effective piece of civil rights legislation ever adopted by Congress.

Carnival of the Animals

The Department of Music's Gold Plus Series presented Camille Saint-Saens' masterpiece The Carnival of the Animals, an orchestral extravaganza featuring the orchestras of Wright State University and Centerville High School.

BMS PhD

Volleyball

Wright State' s volleyball team hit .278 for the match, but could not equal a .349 performance by UW-Milwaukee as the Panthers swept the Raiders at the C.J. McLin Gymnasium.

Wright STEPP

Honored guests at the Wright STEPP Volunteer Reception included, from left to right, Ruby Mawasha, assistant dean, College of Engineering and Computer Science and director of the Wright STEPP program, Lt General John Hudson, commander, Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, President Kim Goldenberg, Clark Beck, founding director of the Wright STEPP program and Bor Jang, dean, College of Engineering and Computer Science. The annual event is held to show appreciation to the WPAFB volunteers for their work with the Wright STEPP program.

MTC trading center

Fall Ainina, director of Wright State's newly-opened, state-of-the-art MTC Technologies Trading Center, left rear, works with business students in the $600,000 facility that replicates an actual stock market trading environment.

Native American

Award-winning Cherokee singer-songwriter Michael Jacobs performed music and storytelling from a Native American perspective as part of Wright State's celebration of Native American Heritage Month.

Learning community

Students from the honors learning community joined international students in the LEAP program in a service-learning project. As they sorted and bagged donated items for The Other Place homeless shelter, international students shared perceptions of the U.S. while practicing their English language skills
